A remove.bg alternative built for people who sell online
Background removal as clean as the tools you know, plus everything else a seller needs — bulk clean-up, scenes, product videos, listing text and a marketplace photo check. One account, one price.
remove.bg is closing on December 1, 2026
remove.bg has announced that its own website will no longer be available from December 1, 2026 at 9:00am CET. In its words: “We're now migrating remove.bg's background removal functionality into the Canva platform.” (remove.bg FAQ). If you use remove.bg today, download anything you still need from your account and use up any credits before then.
If you don't want to move into a design app, PicMerchant is a straight swap for sellers: drop in a photo, get the background off, and finish any edge by hand. What the remove.bg shutdown means for sellers.
The short answer
remove.bg is fast and simple: drop a photo, get the background removed. It charges by the credit, so the bill grows with every photo — 500 full-resolution photos a month is $89 on its Volume+ plan.
PicMerchant’s Seller plan is $19.99 a month for unlimited background removal for one shop (up to 2,000 a month), and it adds the things a seller needs next: hand tools to fix a cutout, bulk logo removal, AI scenes, product videos, listing text and a check that your photo meets each marketplace’s rules.

Why sellers switch to PicMerchant
- A flat monthly price instead of paying per photo.
- Fix it by hand when an automatic cutout misses a spot.
- Every marketplace size in one click — Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, Shopify, Google and Facebook.
- Your photos are kept in Photo Storage instead of downloaded and lost.
Everything else that comes with it
remove.bg is mainly about the photo. PicMerchant is built for the whole job of selling online, so the same account does all of this:
Works on your Mac
Nothing to download or install. It runs in Safari or Chrome on any Mac, and the same account works on a PC, iPhone or iPad.
Fix a cutout by hand
Tap to keep or remove a spot, a scalpel for clean edges and a hair brush — the same kind of hand tools pros expect.
Whole batches at once
Drop in a folder of photos: backgrounds off, logos and watermarks off, dark photos brightened — in one pass.
AI edits
Refresh a tired photo, combine two photos, or put your real product in a new scene.
Product videos
Turn your photos into a short video with captions and a voice — for listings, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube.
Listing kits
Titles, keywords and a description written from your product, ready to paste.
Marketplace photo check
One click tells you if a photo meets Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, Google and Facebook rules, and downloads every size.
Photo Storage and a drive
Folders like your hard drive. Connect it to a Mac or PC and drag photos in and out like any drive.
Made for teams
Invite employees so everyone works from the same photos (Business plan).

Is remove.bg shutting down?
Its standalone website is closing. remove.bg has announced the site will no longer be available from December 1, 2026 at 9:00am CET, and its background removal is moving into Canva.
What should I do with my remove.bg account?
Download any images you still need and use up any credits before December 1, 2026. Check your remove.bg account and its FAQ for the details that apply to you.
Is PicMerchant cheaper than remove.bg?
For a seller doing more than about 50 photos a month, usually yes: $19.99 covers unlimited background removal for one shop (up to 2,000 a month), while remove.bg lists 200 credits at $39 and 500 at $89 a month.
Can I bring photos I already cut out somewhere else?
Yes. Already-cut PNGs keep their cut exactly as they are, and cleaning them up (logos, brightness) doesn’t cut them again.
Does it work on a Mac?
Yes. PicMerchant runs in Safari or Chrome on a Mac with nothing to install, and Photo Storage can show up in Finder like a drive. See PicMerchant on a Mac.
Do I need to install anything?
No. PicMerchant runs in your browser on a Mac, PC, iPhone or iPad.
Is PicMerchant connected to remove.bg?
No. PicMerchant is a separate company and is not affiliated with remove.bg.
